I've moved...Like
FINALLY?You'll probably think like "Why blogger again? Since you're moving, why not move TOTALLY!" Well that's cus' after trying out various blog sites like wordpress, Livejournal and etc...I still prefer blogger
(cus its stinky-ly easy to use! Or either that, I'm just used to it.) Anyway, one thing that made a huge difference which you would probably have notice is my template and my blog name. After toiling for the whole afternoon, reading alien-like language of html code, I finally managed to customised it
MY Way. Like
Finally! For the blog name, it was done by first fusing "Karen" and "quirky", forming "Kuirky" and as I wanna make it an adjective
(very much so like "terriFIED") so hence it forms as "Kuirkyfied". So hope you like the latest "look".
To start, I shall start blogging the many post which I have neglected for some time...I'll start with the earliest!
Les Contes D'Hoffman play @ Esplanade 2009 - A french play of romance, treachery and betrayal. It was a nice feeling to see a play again after so long. The set was beautiful although I was quite disappointed with the performance
(where's the drama people!) and some costumes. Otherwise, the actors were superb! The lady who played Olympia had a wonderful voice. She really can hit all the notes! I am really, really surprised! However, I was quite disappointed by Stella and Antonia as I expected them to be prettier and with a more gorgeous voice than Olympia. Luckily the catchy song rhymes and tunes make up for the disappointment. Among all the characters in the play, I kind of pity the Muse as she tried so hard to be there for the artist but with failed efforts as the artist will never love her back. Kind of breaks my heart to see her trying so hard. There was apparently some mispronunciation too as there were some french people chuckling during some parts where it was supposed to be quite sad. Kind of made it weird to sit in. Hahahaha....There was also some parts at the end whereby the translated words did not show, so I ended up guessing the story by reading the gestures and the tune of the song. On the overall, the show was not too bad. I was quite pleased with the play. I can't wait to go for my next play!
Prom 2009 - the day where we would oddly say "The last time we'll see each other for quite some time and the first time seeing each other dressed up to the nines."It was kind of odd seeing people whom you normally associate with jeans, t-shirts and flip flops to be in dresses, heels, ties, pants, glittery makeup & hair and even gowns! Such mind a boogling sight, changing one's perception about people. Suddenly everyone looks so much nicer, prettier, cuter, etc, without the stress and worries of books and projects. Everyone seem so at ease though there were awkward times but that was replaced by the excellent MCs and event programming. Good job to the SCL club! I am proud that I was once a member there.

Well, after the prom, what's a party without a "after" party! My class didn't join the rest of the cohort to drink at clarke quay as we actually wanted to wait for one of our classmates who -unfortunately- unable to join us as he was working at the IT fair late. However, we did managed to get a mini after-party although the group dwindled down to a mere 4 after the long trek to esplanade
(we took the long walk as we ventured into the wrong direction). At least the walk was fun.
JJ's birthday 2009 @ Sun With Moon (Chijmes)Celebrated JJ's birthday at Sun With Moon. It was quite heartwarming hearing those birthday wishes. I hope to be able to keep up with the celebrations every year too but I guess it's quite impossible for me seeing that I would be away next year. However, I really hope you guys would still continue this practice. It would be nice. The food was good
(as usual) although I was a little disappointed with my pork cutlet as it was so tough. So for people with dentures, it is well advised to not order the same pork cutlet as I did or you'll probably have to minced it before chewing or something. Sk's sushi and chicken with egg set was I think by far, the best among the rest. Then again, I can't give a good judgement as I never did try the boys beef set. Prices were moderate but if you are on a budget and yet you want to try Sun with Moon, do try to visit the restaurant during the afternoon as the prices are much cheaper than those of at night although the food they serve are of the exact same.
Valentine's Day 2009 - My last valentine in Singapore.Had a cosy Vday this year. We didn't go out and instead, I cooked. Yes. I Cooked! For a weird bunch actually. Hahaha...I cooked for Andy
(my cousin), Tata
(my maid) and Lucas
(there's no explanation for this. You should be smart enough to guess). It was kind of a disaster with me cooking? I didn't realised that the Japanese curry pack I bought was for 1 person and not for a whole lot so I ended up diluting the curry pack. It was hilarious! There was far too many potatoes, carrots and rice layered with only a dribble of sauce. Quite pathetic. Luckily there was enough fried chicken, potato wedges and chips to save the day. If not, the situation would be even more dire then it already was. Hahahaha...Loved my gifts thou! =)
Latest addition to my weird soft toy family. The Frog who was called "Harpi".
Uncle Roger's Birthday 2009This post is mainly for my sister who is residing in Australia now. *waves* Here's my last year reporting to you the events in Sg before both of us would be sitting by the computer fervently, waiting for some sort of news to drop by our place at down under. Hahahaha...I hope you don't start getting all teary and such!
ED day 2009 - The last major project presentation day.Presentation went well
(luckily) and was surprisingly smooth. Everything happened so fast. One minute, we were pacing up and down, re-rehearsing and the next, we were out of the room feeling excited and feverish. So surreal! Everything really changes within minutes I guess. After that, it was the weird mix of feelings. Weird as in a sense of its filled with a sense of bittersweet happiness mixed with grief and sadness. The kind of sadness one has when it comes to graduation. As in a few more weeks, we would all graduate officially. Time to start singing the Vitamin C's "graduation" song that every single school would play during graduation day.
Tricia's Birthday 2009Well, it was a warm family gathering. Gambled a bit as since it was Chinese New Year at that time. I kind of suck at gambling? If I gambled $2, if I am lucky, I can get back my capital. If not, I'll probably have to add in more capital to top up my loss. Apparently, I am not the only slow gambler there, the birthday girl is there to join! So high five to the girls in the family who can't really gamble much!

Her gift from us. This set of pictures is again dedicated to Jie by both Tricia and me. We both find this weird L quite funny to play with and thought you might enjoy it too. =D
Now - Some random stuff...I am selling my LOMO LCA camera. It's mint, hardly used and I just sent it for some cleaning and fine tuning at the Camera Hospital last week. So rest assure for it to be in working condition. Do email me at
zarrots07@hotmail.com if you are interested ok? =)

Some preview of it's pictures...I really love my LCA for it's vignetting (its a kind of dark burning of the edges at the pictures) and its saturated colours. However, as I am moving soon, it's kind of redundant for me to keep so many cameras. Hard to ship it off with me...Do contact me if you're interested k? =)

I would be going for Christian Lacroix costume exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore! It's a event to die for! I've been hopping to go to this exhibition ever since I've read about it weeks ago on the airplane from Hong Kong. Such a delight to be able to see his collection up close! Some pictures for your viewing delight.
One of his elaborately designed costume.

I think that should be enough to wrap up for today's post. I'm trying to change my blogging style soon but that would again, take awhile! Till then!
