It didn't really occur to me that I do not have any comments toolbar at all.
...Well, that's after a reminder from Lucas
(Thanks!). After much toggling with the blog's HTML and many references from blogskins....
TADAAA!!! Here's the comments toolbar at the bottem!
(Yay!)Now going back to the main reason for blogging...Again, I will have to dissapoint you by multi-posting. I just can't seem to find time to blog singularly! I don't know why! I always envied those who lived by their blogs, able to blog a single post everytime something come popping up their minds. Lucky people! I really do need 48 hours after all!
To start, I've sold my LCA!
(Hurray -claps claps-) Although I managed to get my LCA to a nice new home a few days back but a part of me misses it already! Actually, I started missing it once I handled over my LCA to the new owner.
*sighs* But I seriously should not hold on to it anymore! Or so the logical person in me says so...why? Cus its...
-too high maintenance
(have to keep retuning it, cleaning it = $$$$$$$)-have to keep it in a super dry box
(any moisture might just spoil it)-I've got far too many cameras
(and its impossible to ship all over to aussie next year)-it's heavy
-I can't calculate how far 0.8m or any other distances perfectly hence = bad pictures
-I'm missing my LCA already!
(ok, this is not in one of the logical reasons!)*sighs*....So now I am actually looking for a replacement and I don't know if its a correct decision to buy a Blackbird Fly or a Diana. This suck. I need a camera that can shoot both night and day without the need for a flash
(That's virtually impossible for a film camera I know...). Just in case you are wondering why on earth do I want a Blackbird Fly or a Diana. The reason is because I've always been lusting over the Blackbird Fly for it can give square format pictures as well as the usual rectangular pictures with the use of a 35mm film
(Just in case I'm speaking greek to you, 35mm film is the usual film you buy in stores). Below is some pictures of the Blackbird Fly and the pictures it can produce.

As for Diana, the reason would be because Lomography.com just release an Instant Back for it. The Instant Back allows Diana to be able to produce instant pictures with the use of Fuji Instax. It's insanely addictive! Below is the Diana which I want to get
(Mr Pink version!) and the instant back...together they give you
ADDICTIVE PICTURES!!!
Omggg...I'm going weak at the knees just thinking of these two cameras! However, it is sooo not feasible for me to buy them at all seeing that I am not working = no pay = no $$$ = no camera. These are all very expensive hobby so I should just keep building my $$ nest and hopefully, perhaps one day, my conscience fail me causing me to rush out, buying one of each camera impulsively
(that's almost impossible!).Well to move slightly back down to earth, here's the last roll of pictures I took using my LCA before it was sold away...

Next, is Gary's birthday! We celebrated his birthday on saturday, the usual homely affair whereby the adults would play majong and sing KTV while my usual kids clique would huddle in Gary's room to play all sorts of weird games, stuffing junk and watching online movie streaming till all of us konk out
(that would be near 2am already). The funny part of the day would be when Gary was trying to cut his cake. Apparently Swenson forgotten to provide a plastic knife for the ice-cream cake so he ended up using a chopper to cut his cake
(seeing that its near rock-hard! Hahaha). Here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure...
Next, would be my visit to Christian Lacroix Exhibition @ the National Museum of Singapore. (For your info, just in case you can't pronounce the Lacroix like me. It's pronouced as La-Kua for its a french name. I learnt it after watching many re-runs of his documentary in the museum!) Guojie kindly agreed to accompany me to the Museum for this exhibition. Luckily! If not, its really hard to find like-minded, fashion and museum loving people to go to this exhibition with me. Most of the people I know would probably fall asleep halfway through the first half of the museum visit. So thank god for like-minded friends!

The exhibition was really fun. There are like 7-9 sets of costumes on display. Some from plays and operas like the reknown Romeo and Juliet, Othello and Carmen. The walls are lined with his sketches, corners of the room are littered with plush victorian styled chairs, the pseudo walls that cover the center of the room are exhibition of his costumes from the various plays and in the center of the room, it is filled with costumes with videos of the various plays playing on repeat mode in the backdrop of the room. The most amazing thing in the whole exhibition would be the rotating ballerina costumes that hung floating on the celling in the center of the room and the dressing table to learn more about operas and dressing up! That is really a sight to see.
Do visit this exhibition if you have the time, it is only for a limited period only. It is on exhibition from 20 March to 14 June 2009, opening hours would be from 10am to 8pm. Entry fees are S$8 for Adults, S$4 for Senior (above 60 years old) & NSF. It is free for all students with a student pass and children under 6 years of age.

After the Christian Lacroix exhibition, we went on to the next room which is some German architecture exhibition on display. Admission is free for this one, so lucky us! They have some pretty interesting concept like the anti-theft rotating doors, linked chairs, art in a box, floating weird looking boats and the conjoined cups
(my favourite! You can see in the picture below).
Here's the weird looking boat that look dangerous enough to capsize if placed on any river. However, I may be wrong seeing that there's a video to prove.

After the German architecture exhibition, we went on to the in-house exhibition. This is divided into four categories: Film, Photography, Fashion and Food. For the film exhibition, you may get quite a slight chill when you enter as it is all dark and gloomy filled with strangely scary old movie posters at the entrance. However, upon stepping into the light at the end of the entrance, you'll be wowed by what you'll see. Inside, it is filled with three huge movie screens playing a single movie simultaneously. The area is filled with film artefacts ranging from Malay to Chinese films. It's quite a nice area to explore.

In the photography exhibition, the area is lined with old photographs and plasma TVs showing old photographs and stories of the old photographs. This exhibition is strangely dissapointing as compared with the rest. There just isn't enough old artefacts to wow the audience although it was very nicely furnished. However, the cameras there did amuse me as these are the cameras which I am now so much into. So old school! I'm actually owning antiques! Apparently 110 films and half-frame format goes a long way back and I don't even know about it until recently. I know it is old and limited in collection but what I didn't know was that it was
SO old
(as in the pre-war kind of old, old?).
For the fashion exhibition, it was quite interesting. There are clothes and items that are used to create the current "look" at that time on exhibit. Clothes ranging from the olden pre-war period to the ah-go-go era (dresses that look like what Daphne from Scooby Doo would wear!). It's so going back to the past and suitable to bring your parents to. Memories revival!

In the last exhibition, the Food category, I was quite dissapointed that the area did not smell like food. I was expecting it to smell great seeing that it IS supposed to be a food exhibition, very much like a food fair kind of thing? Well, I did eventually get to smell some food-related smell at the end of the room which was filled with pots and pots of scents from different herbs. It's quite interesting. A tip to note: Never, Never, Never smell the pepper pot as it would make your nose tickle like crap. Hahaha...Entry is free for all the in-house exhibition from 6pm onwards. So do drop by if you have nothing to do or have no cash for other activities.
Next, would be Wenqing's Birthday.I am really quite sorry for not being able to attend her birthday. Her birthday is kind of like the event to go to? She's invited like 50 odd friends from a mix of secondary school and poly. I doubt I'll invite that many although it's also my 21st too. Oh well! So I ended up meeting her recently to pass her her birthday present which I bought from
Wood Would (quite an interesting place. Do check it out).
We hung around town area, exploring more places for possible birthday presents for her so she can put it on her wishlist. In the spur of the moment, we bought two kinder surprise to perk us up during the long walks. Such cute sentimental stuff! It really do brings back memories. However its really a pity that they are going to stop the old kinder surprise with the formation of the new ones called kinder joy. The old ones are still so much better and original than the new ones.
My toy is the man that changes eyes. Hahaha..so blythe!
(my doll that can change eyes too)
Last in line of today's post would be about the movie: Confessions of a Shopaholic
This show is
FAB! Like seriously
FABULOUS! I was laughing, shouting in glee, screaming in delight and excitment all at the same time
(and this has nothing to do with sitting in a rollercoaster). The
PERFECT chick-flick to watch of all times. Actually,
THE perfect chick-flick in all my chick-flick watching histories.
A MUST-WATCH! I can just watch this show a
MILLION times! Although some parts changed
(or maybe I've forgotten that it was even in the book seeing that I was the mad girl that was laughing out aloud during silent reading, reading the series eons back in secondary school...awww..now I feel ancient!), I still love the movie anyway. Do watch it! Like
SERIOUSLY right
NOW!!!??? The perfect show to lift your mood up be you a guy or a girl. A must watch for every fashionista! You can soooo totally relate yourself into the movie! Loved the animated manniquin! The
BEST chick-flick
EVER!!! (you'll regret if you never catch this show this year!)I've got to end this already. Have to get up bright and early tomorrow! Cya!
